Backups?

Hi Phillip,

I'm basically already through with restoring. I only make local backups of format articles when I create or update them myself. As I had not edited the Wiki much since the rollback point, there's unfortunately not much more to be gained. I could probably recreate some toolset articles which were based on the readme files to my tools, but there are no exact backups for those, so I'll have to check them by hand.

Good to see the Wiki is back anyway!

Yes, in this case the "decentralized backup" structure of the internet seems to have failed. Our info seems to be obscure enough to not be replicated. Another source for restoring might be the Web archive, there seem to be backups at least through mid-2008: [1] Deniz Oezmen 16:16, 5 December 2010 (EST)

Addendum: Starting points might be the articles linked from the "latest formats" list: [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], though unfortunately the Archive doesn't seem to have captured the source of the articles.
