Need some help setting your preferences? Then keep reading.

User data

Your real name (optional)

This is your name as one of your friends or family members would address you, for example: John Doe or Jane Doe. If provided, this name will be listed when people look at your contributions.

Your email (optional)

An email address that you can be contacted at. If you enter it, it allows people to contact you without the need of you giving them your address; and it allows you to recover your account if you forget your password. I would recommend entering an email address, but it's not required.

Your nickname (for signatures)

The pseudonym that people will know you by here. For instance, cool_dud3_121 or badazz27. Nicknames can have just about any printable character in them.

Raw signatures (without automatic link)

I'm not really sure on this, but I think it sets your username to text-only when you use it via the three- or four-tilde (~) signature.

Interface Language

Sets the language that the WIKI appears in when you view it. Default setting is 'en - English'.

Change Password

If, for whatever reason, you want to change your password, do so here. Selecting 'Remember password across sessions' keeps you logged in via a cookie even if you close your browser or shut down your computer.

Quickbar

This is the 'full' navigation bar that appears if you're not logged in. Default position is 'Fixed left'.

Skin

This is the color and layout scheme that the WIKI appears in when you view it. Default is MonoBook.

Rendering Math

This is a setting for experienced users. It specifies the format that the WIKI is rendered in by your browser. Recommended setting is 'Recommended for modern browsers'.

Editing

Rows

Specifies the number of characters wide the editing box is.
